The Bees & their Honey...

Honey is a sweet and viscous substance made by several bee species, the best-known of which are honeybees. Honey is made and stored to nourish bee colonies. Bees produce honey by foraging, the gathering and then refining the sugary secretions of plants (primarily floral nectar).

A honeybee hive colony’s population comprises of about 96-99% female worker bees during warmer months, mid spring, summer and early fall, periods that include floral foraging.  This foraging is only done by the female worker bees.
